The Beginning of Knowledge Learning Center is an educational community in Bakersfield, California, created to enrich the academic and social development of online charter schooled junior high and high school students. With an emphasis on real-world skill-building, we offer small-group elective classes that cover entrepreneurship, technology, life skills, trades, fine arts, and humanities. Our mission is to provide a personalized, practical, and holistic education in a safe and supportive environment.

Students learn fundamental concepts of business operations and management. Key topics include entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and the basics of running a business. Students learn about market research, developing business plans, and understanding financial statements, as well as the importance of teamwork and leadership in a business environment.
Students learn essential skills for managing their money effectively. Key topics include budgeting, saving, investing, understanding credit, and the importance of financial planning. Students learn how to create a budget, manage expenses, and make informed decisions about loans and credit cards, as well as the basics of investing for their future.
This course cover fundamental principles of automotive systems, including engine repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Students gain hands-on experience working with various tools and equipment, learning valuable skills applicable in real-world situations.
Basic Electrical covers fundamental concepts of electricity and electrical systems. Students learn about electrical theory, safety practices, wiring techniques, and the use of tools and equipment. The course often includes hands-on projects, such as wiring circuits and understanding basic components like switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
Students are introduced to the basics of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen organization, laying the foundation for more advanced culinary skills.
